Look Ma, No Cervix!

By Kendra Holliday | February 18, 2013

Sex Positive St. Louis hosted its second Pussy Party the other night! This is where women gather and talk about women things and show off their pussies to each other. You can read all about it here.

At the first Pussy Party, I had a cervix. This time, it was – poof – gone, thanks to my hysterectomy six months ago. I still have my vagina and ovaries, but I had my uterus, fallopian tubes, and cervix removed.

Below are the before and after pics of my vagina, with and without cervix:

It's just a pink dead end now!

People have asked me if I can tell any difference and the answer is no. How about my partner? He notices he doesn’t bump into anything anymore, but other than that, it makes no difference.

I asked my doctor how my vagina stays in place without a uterus to connect to, and he said it’s anchored by ligaments, phew! And is sewn up at the dead end with a little purse string stitch. Pretty cool, huh?

It’s been six months since my hysterectomy, and I feel great. Our sex life and my orgasms have never been better!

Does the cervix normally have a purple color or is everyone different?

The cervix normally has at least a slightly purplish tone because the blood vessels are near the surface. When you get pregnant, it becomes even more blue/purple due to increased blood flow.

You know what I’m curious about… Mine always hurts when it gets bumped which is in most positions tbh… Do you have less issues with pain when you do really deep positions?

Yes, for sure. No pain. Nothing to bump into!

hmmmm sometimes i think the ‘bump’ against my cervix helps me get off? kind-of like nipple pinches? the pain pleasure thing? but i will probably never know…

Interesting. Glad it all went well. Interestingly, my ex used to enjoy her cervix getting bumped, or, when fisting her, I’d jack it off and she’d go through the roof with orgasmic pleasure! She even had that type of birth control that they stick up there, and even when I’d hit it during sex, she seemed to really love it. Different strokes and all…

It feels like the tip of your nose – spongy but firm.
