Hygge

By Kendra Holliday | December 19, 2023

Do the right thing.

Do the right thing.

I used to HATE winter, but then I learned about hygge.

What is hygge?

Hygge is a Danish word that translates into: “GET COZY AND HAPPY EVEN THOUGH IT’S FUCKING COLD OUTSIDE!”

Well, here is what the Visit Denmark website says:

“Hard to explain and even harder to pronounce, the Danish word hygge (pronounced ‘hooga’) roughly translates to ‘coziness’. In essence, hygge means creating a warm atmosphere and enjoying the good things in life with good people. The warm glow of candlelight is hygge. Friends and family – that’s hygge too. There’s nothing more hygge than sitting round a table, discussing the big and small things in life. Perhaps hygge explains why the Danes are the happiest people in the world!”

Turning a negative into a positive = LIFE’S SECRET WEAPON.

I have a Norwegian friend and I make him pronounce it for me. Over and over, hee! As an ignorant, but now *enlightened* American, it’s a tricky word to say! But at least I know how to DO IT.

In true hygge fashion, I’ve surrounded myself with glowing candles, soft scarves and blankets, warm spirits, and cozy-inducing activities. Mood lighting and inviting textures are KEY. Group sex is optional. 🙂

Here are some examples of MY hygge – I range from sweet to sexxxy:

I love my little cheesy faux fireplace, my fleece jammie pants, wearing a hoodie, hood up and zipper half down braless. Hygge is a bear slipping into my flannel sheets spooning me with the covers pulled up to our ears, feeling his warm breath on my neck and a paw on my pale breast.

Turning a negative thought into a positive one sounds great any time of the year, but especially during this time. Thank you for the post!

Kendry, have you ever had sex with someone knowing it would be the last time ever you’d have sex with him? If so, how did you live that experience?

Kendra, are you planning any get together or house parties soon?

My last play party was Oct 2019. Then pandemic happened. I’m willing to organize another party, but haven’t been able to find a good venue. I don’t like hotels, I prefer a larger, nice home that can accommodate 30-100 people.
In the meantime, I’ve been hosting SEX+STL events once or twice a month, but they are more like social gatherings in public/discussions. https://www.meetup.com/sex-positive-st-louis/
