Beau was talking to this plump middle aged woman about how men don’t like the skinny model type. He said most men prefer curves, which elicited an approving gleam in the woman’s eye.
I blurted, “YOU like skinny girls.” I proceeded to tell her about the time he hugged a thin, sparrow-like woman - you know, the kind who smokes and looks like she could be folded at the waist and knees and stored under a bed? He told me he liked the way his arms held so little, and feeling her rib cage. Her expression slowly transformed into a scowl.
This forced him to admit that his preferences have changed since meeting me, that now he appreciates curves and ass. Do you think this means he has matured? Before me, did he not think about the pleasure of grabbing a woman by the waist, or holding on to her “fuck handles” as he eloquently describes the pleasantly padded hip bones in one of his blog posts?
In a comment a while back, I suggested that maybe dom men prefer skinny girls because they get off on the frailness, and that sub men prefer bigger women because they want to be crushed. What do you think? Personally, when it comes to women, I like all body types. When it comes to men, I used to like skinny boys and grabbing on to THEIR hip bones as they thrust on top of me, but that has changed in the past year. Now I get excited at the thought of a big dude pinning me down, someone two or three times my size lording their strength and power over me. What size partner do you prefer - small, medium, or large?

I think this is a process most men go through, when are young and aren’t sure what we like, we liked what we were told to like by the media/idiot box. It seems to be a little better now but for a long time most women on popular television were toothpicks. For me it came down to the way “real” women felt and wasn’t so much a looks thing. I’ve been with one toothpick and that was all it took, she felt hard as a rock and that didn’t make my dick feel the same.

I like to say that I’m the skinniest fat girl in the world. I’m all bones and boobs and hips. It’s weird.

Okay, I’m outting myself as a skinny chick. And an angry one at times.
1) I hate it when people talk about preferring “real” women. I’m 5′5″, 100 pounds, and I’m a real person. And a real woman. I didn’t starve myself to become this way; it’s just the way I am and have always been. (Hell, even if I *had* starved myself, that wouldn’t make me not real, it would just mean I had a mental health issue.
2) I hate when people talk about it being “gross” to be able to see someone’s ribs. It’s pretty un-PC to talk about fat being “gross.” Same thing.
3) I like partners of many sizes and shapes. Despite my ranting above, I am NOT opposed to anyone having preferences, just opposed to how people sometimes phrase said preferences. I used to think I was only attracted to thin, short women. I’ve since realized that I’m capable of being attracted to women of other sizes and statures, too. Lucky me! My preferences for men have varied and expanded over time, too.

It is true that most of my male friends make fun of me for liking thin women. Most guys want curves and that means that they don’t want the women you see in vogue, etc. It is the women and gay men of the fashion industry who sell the “ideal” stick-thin figure to women–not straight men.
That being said, I am attracted to thin women. It’s a beautiful thing that people’s tastes are so varied that EVERYONE has a group of people who think that they are attractive. I should point out that for me to be attracted to a woman, she has to be smart or I don’t give a shit about how cute or sexy her appearance is, I won’t date her.

i dont know that i truly have a preference…although i do have height issues…i am just over five feet tall and anything over six feet is too tall for me…give me a man with good, strong hands…that is what i like…

It is very nice to know that Beau and I have the same preferences in women, especially the smart part. I was beginning to think I was the only one out here.
However it should be said that “Vogue” and the like are not the reason I am attracted to thin women. I think it is more about the being a supposed “Strong manly man” thing and embracing someone so small and delicate and knowing that I am capable of creating great pleasure without inducing undue pain.
I am also going to agree with Beau about “L”. His statement says it all, except that Rockabillygirl and I DO NOT have our hands full and would love to pursue someone like you.

L, as one of, if not the only one here who used the word “real,” allow me to explain. I guess I should have used the word “average,” since most women aren’t very skinny, thats what I was referring to. I find myself attracted to women with average builds, which is probably size 6 or greater. I certainly did not want to suggest that skinny women weren’t real, just not average or as common.

It’s always been crazy size wise for me. I hit 6 foot my freshman year of high school and most of the boys weren’t tall enough to date and I wasn’t mature enough to realize that I could date someone shorter than me.

I love all the discussion about size and shape.
Having ranged 50lbs more and 10lbs below what the scale tells me I am now, I have been very plump, round and rubenesque (if you will) and so very unhappy with myself. I am back to a comfortable zone and now very rarely pay attention to dress sizes or what the scale tells me. Before I would obsess. I feel comfortable in my skin. I feel sexy in my skin. I love my curvy body. 34-26-35 I also love my hip bones that protrude when I lie down. Am I skinny? Fuck no. I have an ass and thighs. My stomach isn’t flat. But do I want to change any of it?? Nope.
@CuriousGirl… I too am just a smidgen over 5′ but I feel the absolute opposite. I love big men. 6′ plus, 200lbs at least is ideal for me.
There wasn’t anything better than with my last guy when we were walking arm in arm, even with heels on, I still was diminutive to him. Just fitting into him, jigsaw puzzle style. My head barely reaching his shoulders. His arm draped around my shoulder, pulling me in close.

I think the perception of a “skinny girl” depends on the observer. In my mind I’m a “big sexy girl” (a size 10 with big natural boobs, defined waist and a nice backside), so I think TBK is quite skinny and not curvy and guys like Beau would probably think I’m enormous. The model types look thin, boyish and unhappy to me (including the men). I like my Caveman athletic with great arms, great calves and a hairy chest. (Growl…).

I’ve never been a thin girl, don’t think I’ll ever be (though I’m trying to shave some of these pounds off). I, unfortunately, outweigh my husband by quite a bit. He and I are quite opposite. Though I’d love to be thinner, I’m usually happy with my body. I love being curvy. I remember feeling really great about my body when I was pregnant. And I’m so lucky to have a husband that makes me feel sexy. I love him and don’t wish for a different man. For despite being thin, he’s strong, muscular, and so sexy. He’s like my secret weapon. Quiet, a bit shy, funny and polite during the day but a TOTALLY different man in bed. Woo! I’m getting a little steamed up just thinking about it…
My preference in girls isn’t very particular. I think I would feel more comfortable being with a girl more my size (I think that’s my insecurity speaking…) but I think smaller women are very beautiful too. I’ve always been thankful that there are men that like all types of women. Then none of us spectacularly fabulous girls have to change ourselves to find a man - we just have to search for the man (or men) who appreciate us as we are.
