Unsexy China: Fucked Up Potato Chips
We saw a huge display of chips in cans in a Chinese supermarket and took a closer look. They had all kinds of weird flavors. We bought the cucumber, tomato and smoked braised pork flavor (all 100% vegetarian).
The pork flavor was so damn nasty I pitched it right away and brushed my teeth. It was like eating crunchy Alabama roadkill.
I really wanted to like the cucumber flavor but it tasted so chemically, kinda the way I imagine meth tasting.
And the tomato flavor - it was like a Pringles chip smeared with a skid mark of catsup powder. Gross.

The Tomato was a bit disturbing. I liked the Cucumber a lot. She didn’t give me a chance to try the pork one.

With the description of “it was like a Pringles chip smeared with a skid mark of catsup powder” it *almost* makes me want to try them.
Too bad I have never liked Pringles and avoid them like the plague. lol

I’ve seen many snacks with various seafood flavors at Global Foods. I’ve heard about seafood ice cream in south east asia.

You don’t have tomato-flavoured chips in the USA??
They are popular here. In fact, I had tomato-SAUCE flavoured chips here once (they were great, even though I generally avoid and despise flavoured things).
