Ugly Things in China, Part 2
Filed under: Vexed - June 8, 2008 @ 6:00 amSeen in the supermarket - they are called “the grandmothers of shrimp.”

These kind of rocks were everywhere. I think Chinese royalty and rich people are into them. Everytime I saw one, I thought, “I got a rock,” from It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. You know, when Charlie Brown goes trick-or-treating and the asshole neighbors keep giving him rocks? Oh, never mind.

Ha ha, just kidding. SO not Chinese, and SO not ugly. Unless you think Girls Gone Wild is ugly.

Painting seen in hotel hallway. Not even fit for a doctor’s office, I say!

Live bullfrogs also in supermarket, note open sores.

I much prefer bullfrogs to girls gone wild.
But why are they in the supermarket?

Because their legs are delicious, Valentine.

Am I the only one that is seeing faces in the rocks? Skeletal and “Scream”-like faces?
I think I need some sleep.

LOL, Dor! I am the last person to be on anything stronger than a couple of Bell’s Oberon these days!
Seriously, left bottom corner. Turn your head a bit to the left and squint (or don’t wear you glasses like I did when I first glanced at it). And there is another one, more horse like on the left side too, just up from the 2nd blue flag/marker.
I still need to get sleep. 4 hours last night and then went off to teach Sunday school this morning. And just typing that sentence is mind fucking me more than the skeletal faces. lol

The first things I saw were the faces! And I am well rested and haven’t been drinking. I do teach Sunday school also though, frequently on little sleep, so perhaps there’s a connection…..!

I don’t see faces, but I love the asymmetry of these rocks and the Chinese gardens in general.

Why thank you, Dor. I am just starting my exploration of beer. I can’t wait for the colder months to return only because I loves me some pumpkin ale!
chiavata- the reason that teaching Sunday school is such a mind fuck is that I identify myself as agnostic, with duo/polytheistic tendencies, teaching in a Methodist church that I am not part of.
Beau- I agree. Even though I still see the faces WITH my glasses on and more than a full nights sleep (12 hours!!) under my belt.
