“Pet” Girl Kicked Off Bus for Wearing Leash
LONDON (Reuters) - A British bus company has apologized to a girl who is led around on a leash by her boyfriend and describes herself as a human pet after one of its drivers threw her off a bus.
Tasha Maltby, 19, told British newspapers she was the “pet” of her 25-year-old fiance Dani Graves.
“We have spoken to the driver who has talked about health and safety,” a spokesman said. “Should she be attached to a chain and something happens on the bus, that could be dangerous. All we are saying is that she is very welcome to use the buses but not when she is on her lead.”
Maltby said her choice of lifestyle might seem unusual but was harmless.
“I am a pet,” she told the Daily Mail. “I generally act animal-like and I lead a really easy life. I don’t cook or clean and I don’t go anywhere without Dani. It might seem strange but it makes us both happy. It’s my culture and my choice. It isn’t hurting anyone.”
One time in high school my boyfriend took me to the mall on a leash, and we were so young and stupid we actually had the nerve to feel annoyed at the reaction we got from the other mallgoers.
Nowadays I know better and would only pull this kind of thing in an appropriate setting, like a fetish party or kink gathering. Or visiting my parent’s house.

I especially love it when she’s all, “I don’t have to cook or clean…” Way to get out of chores. “I’m sorry dear, but isn’t it time to walk me?”

Is it bad that I’m pretty sure that’s Mr.Marcus’ hands in the picture?
Since she describes herself as a pet, does the bus company have any rules about pets. If so, would she fall under those instead of the “safety” line they are trying to pull?
We answered the door for pizza one day while I was wearing a leash. We loved the reaction.

I say that’s a lot less disturbing than the infantalists. How about having to change your “baby” on the bus…lmao
I think they look like a sweet couple…hehe

my first trip to san francisco was for the haight street fair. i noticed a rather large man dressed in nothing but a thong, boots, leather chaps, and a spiked dog collar with a leather strap that lead to a ‘little person’ who pulled him around like a clydesdale horse.
getty up!

SO many questions. Are human pets allowed to vote? Do they use a toilet or poo in the yard? Does she go to the gynecologist as the pet? Is she allowed to eat people food? If the “owner” had an terrible accident, would she get out of character and call 911? Or just bark until the neighbors heard and came over?

she has a bus pass - according to her owner’s statement.
so it doesn’t seem like she would be exactly like an animal. it seems like the toned down version of her being his actual pet.

I can definitely see where the bus company is coming from. They’re kinda damned if they do, damned if they don’t. Because if something happened on the bus, and she was injured because of her leash, they would have been sued.
I’m all for rights in this situation, but the bus company really had to protect themselves in this instance.
