Black Snake Moan = Ipecac

Black Snake Moan’s alternate title should be Symbolism for Dummies.
GOD it was cheesy. I wonder if the actors would ever stop mid-line and think, “Wow I just said something really hokey.” Maybe that’s why they were scowling all the time, or maybe the scowls were meant to add credibility to the cliches they were spewing.
You can read the bible and get the same sort of crap dished out at you, but the bible doesn’t have a hot, nearly naked underweight vixen being rude on a chain. I would rant more but I already wasted 106 minutes of my life on it, so just consider this a warning to you.

Glad you watched and reviewed. I’ve been debating whether or not to rent it, every time I head to the video store. It LOOKS cheesy, but a male friend said it was great. Probably for the “nearly naked underweight vixen.”

I watched it a few months ago but wished I would have kept my volume turned all the way down.
I’ll admit that I should have turned it off but I just couldn’t.

I wondered what you would think of this film. The movie has great potential if put out as an independent (think The Secretary or Romance) keeping Sam Jackson as the lead. You could sense Hollywood was uncomfortable with the subject matter and probably pushed the envelope for most of its viewers. This one is right up there with Eyes Wide Shut… both yawners for me, but probably life changing for those less jaded.

Black Snake Moan was just awful but I have to admit Christina Ricci’s body was out of control hot.

Black Snake Moan was hot in spite of itself.
