Two Outlet Frustration

Have you ever noticed that every time you go to plug something in, both outlets are already in use? Have you ever noticed that the average entertainment center requires about, oh, six to eight outlets?
Back in 1940, two outlets sufficed for your fan and radio, but HELLO we’ve advanced technologically, for better or worse, so WHY are they still building houses with the two-outlet design, forcing us to cobble lamps and phone chargers and clocks together using extension cords and power strips?
I know we should be using less energy, but fuck, try telling that to my laptop.
