Meskerem

Dear god I have a new favorite restaurant. I’ve been to Meskerem Ethiopian restaurant on South Grand three times now, and each experience is more orgasmic than the last. I have to keep from screaming when I eat the food. Instead I just squirm in my seat and keep thinking about how you could kill me right after I finished eating and I would die a happy and content woman. It makes me positively delirious.
Get the veggie combo platter. They have this whipped chickpea and jalapeno dish that you’d swear contains cream or eggs, but it doesn’t. Vegan delight, baby.

I’ve never gone vegan in an Ethiopian restaurant - but I’ll agree violently that we’re talking about an under-appreciated cuisine! Those three-day fermented crepes? The nuanced sauces? 100% delight.
The one I like also has a history lesson printed on the reverse of the menu. A true gem of a place.

Sounds enticing. I haven’t been that way in some time, and the last visit was to MoKaBee’s.

I’ll vouch for TBK’s almost going into orgasmic convulsions and practically dropping to give the cook head in lieu of payment.
IT WAS THAT GOOD.
